About A1 Auto Care

Fast and Friendly Oil Changes and State Inspections! No Appointment Needed!

A1 Auto Care is an auto repair shop in Altoona, Pennsylvania. It is listed at 1708 E Pleasant Valley Blvd, Altoona, PA 16602, which places it among the local businesses of Altoona that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.

In Altoona, shops are busiest on Monday mornings and before holiday weekends, so a mid-week appointment gets a car seen faster. Labor rates across Pennsylvania vary by neighborhood and by shop type, from small independents to dealership service bays, and mobile mechanics now cover many routine jobs in the driveway. Before authorizing a repair, ask for the estimate in writing, whether the shop warranties parts and labor (12 months / 12,000 miles is common, some offer more), and whether it can provide a loaner or a shuttle. Check the listing for hours, the makes the shop works on and its Google rating, then call ahead, since walk-in capacity is limited at smaller shops.

Hours are published for 5 days a week. Typical hours are 8 am–5 pm. Note that it does not open on Saturday, Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach A1 Auto Care at (814) 944-3837; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.8 out of 5 from 124 reviews, which is a strong result for an auto repair shop in Altoona and suggests consistent service.

Altoona is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Altoona follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

This is now my 2nd time having a vehicle inspected here and it was a great experience both times. I was able to get an appointment quickly (next day even!). Booking was easy online, I didn’t even have to call. I was able to authorize repairs from my phone and make payment from my phone as well. They even partner with third party vendors who can provide financing should your vehicle need a lot of work. Rob is always friendly, kind and willing to help.

While traveling car started overheating. Pulled in right before closing at Altoona PA location. They where very nice but couldn't get to it that day. But said they can look at it first thing in the morning. And recommend a nice place we can stay at. Went back first thing in the morning they got it in right away and a little over an hour we were all set and back on our way. At a very good price

Great service and quick too. I'd recommend this shop to anyone in need of service with a very reasonable price. I had my truck inspected. They are quick and efficient.

I have always received top notch reasonably priced service at A-1. Rob at the front desk is always helpful and the mechanics are Excellent. As Bill completed my oil change, he also pointed out something to be aware of in the future. I would highly recommend this repair shop.
